It rides on a black-painted laminate stock with features similar to those seen on much more costly stocks. Along with the receiver-mounted, push-to-fire safety, we shortened the action by about an inch and slab-sided it to minimize its footprint and weight.

The 455’s stamped bottom metal has been replaced with a sophisticated two-piece interlocking system. To facilitate scope installation, we eliminated the 90-degree bolt rotation in favor of a 60-degree rotation, which allows for greater ocular bell diameters with lower ring heights. To cap it off, the 457 now has an adjustable trigger for weight, creep, and overtravel.
