Order Beretta 92FS Centennial 9mm Limited Edition Pistol online. Beretta has released a limited edition 92 Centennial collector’s edition to commemorate 100 years since the company’s first semiauto handgun was adopted by the Italian military.

A small number of this commemorative, fully working 92 will be imported to the United States, capturing some of the looks and characteristics of the Beretta Model 1915 from a century ago. The years 1915 and 2015 are etched in Roman numerals on either side of the Brigadier-style slide on this single-action steel 92 with a frame-mounted safety (no decocker).

Around the medallion emblem in the middle of the premium-wood grip panels are the same numbers. The whole thing comes in a Beretta box that looks like an ammunition can and has the anniversary dates on it.

Beretta patented the Model 1915 only a month after Italy joined the Allies in the First World War, and the Italian military quickly accepted it. The Model 1915 single-action semiauto had a cutaway on the slide and a minimally-protruding barrel, both of which would become hallmarks of Beretta pistols in years to come.

It was chambered in 9mm Glisenti, a mild equivalent of the 9mm Parabellum on which it was really based. It also contained two safety devices: one in the rear frame (similar to the one we “copied” for the 92 Centennial) and the other above the trigger. The 92 Centennial imitates some of these qualities while also exhibiting the finest of Beretta’s achievements in the field. The 92 Centennial tastefully imitates some of these features while also showcasing the very best of what Beretta has achieved in the intervening century.
