The EDC X9, a contemporary combination of the EDC 9 1911 slide assembly combined with the all-new high-capacity X-frame, has reinvented the defensive pistol. This revolutionary design combines the accuracy, ergonomics, and trigger pull of the traditional 1911 design with increased dependability, concealability, and high capacity performance.

The X-frame is a 15-round, high capacity 9mm 1911 frame designed by Bill Wilson and Wilson Combat engineers that is similar in dimensions to a typical compact, single stack 1911. The X-frame is made of T6-7075 aluminum and takes a high-capacity magazine with a grip that is smaller in circumference than a conventional 1911 while yet having 1911 controls.

The 15-round, double-column EDC X9 magazine was created in collaboration with Mec-Gar, the industry leader in double-column magazine design. The aggressive traction Wilson/VZ G-10 starburst pattern grips are firmly held in place by hammer spring tension in the screwless X-frame design. The result is a highly concealable, high-capacity handgun frame that disassembles fully without screws or frame bushings for cleaning and has a more natural, oval grip form.

The slide assembly for the EDC X9 comes from a single stack EDC 9 handgun with Wilson Combat’s ERS “Enhanced Reliability System” for 9mm 1911 pistols. The ERS is designed to handle the different power levels of 9mm ammunition and performs well in all situations, even when fouled and lubricated.

A Tri-Top slide design with a user-replaceable front sight, a single lug tapered cone match-grade 1911 barrel, a rear Tactical Adjustable Battlesight, and a durable, user-serviceable external extractor are among the other characteristics.

The X-frame grip’s ergonomic shape, along with an expanded trigger guard window and your option of radiused trigger pad length, comfortably suits all hand sizes and enhances recoil control. The Wilson Combat X-Tac tread pattern is machined into the EDC X9 front and rear straps, providing a comfortable but tactile grip in all shooting circumstances. The EDC X9 is available with or without an attachment rail and will fit the majority of holsters made for 4″ or 4.25″ 1911 handguns on the market.
