Max Michel, Jr., team captain for Sig Sauer, collaborated with SIG engineers to produce the 1911 Max, a race-inspired handgun constructed to his exact specifications. The 1911 Max, manufactured by the Sig Sauer Unique Shop, is a single-stack, 5-inch, all-steel handgun with all the custom characteristics a world-class shooter demands.

On top of a natural steel frame with 26LPI checkering on the front strap, a Nitron-finished stainless slide incorporates forward cocking serrations. Max’s “MM” insignia is specially etched on the slide and machined into the Hogue® custom G-10 “Chainlink” grips, which provide the shooter with an extremely aggressive, non-slip surface.

Built to Michel’s specifications, the 1911 Max boasts a variety of unique components, including a SIG SAUER flat trigger, external extractor, Dawson® Ice Magwell®, Koenig® Speed Hammer®, and EGW® sear and firing pin. Additionally, adjustable front and rear fiber optic sights allow high-speed visibility.
