With a slew of adjustments, the most striking is undoubtedly the Bren 2’s stringent weight-loss routine. With a shortened aluminum receiver and a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer bottom, the result is a pistol that is both durable and much lighter.

The reciprocating charging handle has been omitted in favor of one that remains stored in the forward position until it is required. It is interchangeable from side to side and doubles as a forward assist.

Additionally, the handgun now has an AR-style bolt catch/release mechanism that is mirrored on both sides, as well as a catch/release snuggled into the front of the trigger guard. The magazine release and safety are both ambidextrous and are positioned in areas that are highly recognizable to anybody acquainted with the AR platform.

Chambered in 223 with AR-15-style magazines to enable consistent feeding and final round hold-open. All variations have interchangeable barrel lengths and chamberings, as well as a modular forend that can be adjusted to various lengths.

In pistol configuration, the Bren 2 Ms has a flush rear plate with an AR-style buffer tube attachment point for the addition of an arm brace, cheek rest, or equivalent pistol stabilizing device. To SBR, either a Carbine buffer tube and stock may be fitted, or the whole rear plate can be removed and replaced with a factory folding/adjustable stock.
