Order Colt 1911 Dragon .38 Super Limited Edition Pistol (1 of 500) online. The Western common conception of a dragon as winged, four-legged, and capable of spewing fire is a High Middle Ages fabrication. Dragons are portrayed as monsters in western cultures, usually by saints or cultural heroes, who must be tamed or overcome. The term “dragon” has also been connected with good fortune in China. Only the Chinese emperor was authorized to put dragons on his residence, clothes, or personal items. Numerous communities in Mexico have worshiped a winged serpent god. Mexican designs with winged serpents are prevalent.
In 2004, TALO released two limited edition Colt Dragon pistols chambered in.45 caliber. Their revised Dragon Model is based on Colt’s O2091, a full-size.38 Super caliber government pistol. Production is restricted to 500 units with unique serial numbers. MEX001-MEX500.
Initially, the stainless slides and fames are polished. The exquisite dragon pattern is accented with deep carved black lines and judiciously plated with 24k gold, copper, and silver. The chamber of the barrel is polished to match the slide finish.
All components, including the hammer, slide stop, barrel bushing, thumb safety, and magazine release, are well polished. The hex-shaped grip screws are polished and 24k gold-plated. Grips feature an alternating dragon scale pattern and a gold rampart Colt medallion embedded within.
