The 940 JM Pro is the culmination of two years of research with world champion shooters Jerry and Lena Miculek and is intended to fulfill the demands of today’s competition shooters with a variety of factory-installed aftermarket upgrades and accessories.

The Miculeks worked with Mossberg engineers to identify and help re-design major areas of improvement, including the gas system, loading port, point-of-aim/point-of-impact, overall product fit and functionality, sight system, and choke system, using the iconic 930TM JM Pro-Series Competition Shotgun as a baseline. All of the newly developed components paved the path for Mossberg to introduce the 940, a revolutionary autoloading platform.

The most important characteristics following are some of the features of the 940 autoloading shotgun: Gas System: The 940’s innovative gas system will cycle any sort of excellent factory-made 2 34 or 3-inch ammunition for up to 1,500 rounds before needing to be cleaned. A stepped and vented-spacer component has been included to keep the gas system functioning smoothly by shedding any moisture or carbon build-up each time it cycles.

The loading port on the 940 has been engineered to allow the operator to effectively quad-load the magazine tube right out of the box, without requiring any receiver modifications. Additionally, the elevator and shell catch has been engineered to prevent typical pinch areas. Point-of-Aim / Point-of-Impact: Mossberg engineers designed a new barrel-making method for the 940 that provides the best possible performance.

Production of a platform that allows a user to retain an accurate point-of-aim/point-of-impact when using factory-made ammunition regularly. Fit and Function: The Mossberg 940 has a thin profile with an ergonomic forend and stock, both of which include Mossberg’s distinctive texturing for a solid, but comfortable grip.

The stock is user-configurable, with options for length-of-pull (13–14.25 inches), drop, and cast right out of the box. The controls (charging handle and bolt release button) are enlarged and the receiver is anodized for durability. For smooth, dependable operation, inside components are nickel boron-coated. The 940 JM Pro’s sight system is a fiber optic HIVIZ® TriComp sight system with nine user-interchangeable LitePipes in three colors and three forms of varying heights for outstanding seeing in any competitive scenario.

The 940 JM Pro comes with a set of Briley® extended chokes (Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, and Modified) that are etched with constriction for simple choosing and are equipped with Mossberg’s Accu-ChokeTM system.
